1. Make sure that your colleagues and boss really understand what you do at the company
Job titles are often not enough for people to understand what you do and the skills that your have. This also helps showcase your potential for more senior roles.
2. Get out of your comfort zone!
You are offered a new project that scares you a little? Say yes! This is how you will find out what you like and will stretch your knowledge base. Try to spend a good amount of your day out of your comfort zone.
3. Make your voice heard
As a woman in business – I have encountered many instances where your hard work is not recognized. Make sure that you make yourself heard and that you are credited for the work that you have done and the results that you have achieved.
4. Network
Get to know people in your organization and in your industry – this is often how you will find your next opportunity.
5. Be curious
I believe that it’s vital to have a sense of curiosity. It’s important to always be open minded, to learn new things and be open to new opportunities to drive innovation in everything that you do.
