Why Zoe Kravitz Makes the Most Bada** Catwoman

If you aren’t already a huge fan of Zoe Kravitz, it’s time to get on board. Yes, Michelle Pfeiffer walked so Zoe Kravitz could run- but one thing you won’t see Kravitz’ Catwoman running in is uncomfortable shoes. Kravitz is taking on the role of Catwoman in Matt Reeves’ upcoming film, The Batman. She is the fourth actor to take on the role (this century), following Michelle Pfeiffer, Anne Hathaway and Halle Berry. She describes her performance as Catwoman as more “realistic”, claiming if she herself wouldn’t be able to run around town in a pair of stilettos, then Selina Kyle wouldn’t be either.

What critics are already claiming to be the best Batman movie yet, The Batman is sure to be the biggest blockbuster of 2022. After nearly a year delay from its original release date due to the pandemic, the film has been gaining buzz since its first teaser trailer in 2020. Fans are excited to see the on-screen chemistry between Kravitz’s Catwoman and Robert Pattison’s Batman- especially after last week’s Entertainment Weekly Cover shoot article

While there was some initial negative feedback on the role of Batman being cast to Pattinson, there has only been excitement from the public to see Kravitz take on the role of Selina Kyle. Zoe Kravitz has been in the industry longer than you may think and already has some notable franchise films under her belt, including X-Men, Divergent and Fantastic Beasts. We think she may be the perfect actor to be cast in this role, here’s why:

1.) She Exudes Coolness

Zoe Kravitz is the ultimate cool girl- from the way she dresses to her entire demeanor. We all wish we could pull of the laid-back style of Kravitz’ character, Rob in the Hulu series High Fidelity. Every interview, every photo shoot- exuding cool.

2.) She’s No Stranger to an Action Film

In fact, she’s already played a superhero… sort of. Depending on your interpretation of a hero. Her breakout role was in X-Men: First Class playing a mutant named Angel. She weaved between indies and action movies for the first decade of her career also starring in Divergent and Mad Max: Fury Road.

3.) She’s Got Chops- Dramatic Acting Chops

The sadness and trauma that she brought to the character Bonnie in Big Little Lies is some of her best work yet. Fans are eager to witness her bring this kind of despair to the character of Kyle.

Will you be one the first to watch The Batman in theaters after March 4th? This film has been a long time coming, we hope it lives up to it hype!
